Lauren Emerson chose to follow in her father's footsteps to become an agricultural educator in 2012 after graduating with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture Education from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. She also earned her Masters of Education Degree in Educational Leadership in December 2019 from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Lauren is an agricultural educator at North DeSoto High School in Stonewall, LA where her husband is also the Welding Instructor. Lauren teaches general Agriscience I, II, III, IV, as well as certification courses such as NCCER and CITF Core, Carpentry Level I, and Welding Level I.
Lauren Emerson was elected NAAE Region II Vice President at the 2024 NAAE Convention after serving as the Region II Secretary. She will serve as Region II Vice President for three years.
Lauren participated in the Teacher Turn the Key program in 2016. She was selected as an Agriscience Ambassador in 2017 and presented workshops at the National FFA Convention and NAAE Convention. In 2018, Lauren won the NAAE Outstanding Early Career Teacher award as well as the ACTE New Teacher of the Year award. That same year, she also served as an ACTE Fellow. She has been a lifelong attendee of the Region II Summer Conference and has attended the NAAE Convention each year since 2016.
Lauren resides in Grand Cane, Louisiana with her husband, JT, and two sons, Bridger and Trace.
