Deanna Schnuck teaches agriculture at Boonslick Technical Education Center in Boonville, Missouri. She was elected NAAE President at the 2022 NAAE Convention after serving as NAAE Preisdent-Elect, NAAE Region IV Vice President, and NAAE Region IV Secretary.
Deanna is a native of Missouri. She grew up with an agriculture background, but not on a farm. She has been very driven in her promotion of agriculture and expanding her knowledge. At the age of 14, she developed her supervised agricultural experience program and it was this which drove her passion for agriculture, agricultural education, and FFA. Her SAE consisted of a fresh fruit and vegetable business where she sold produce at local farmers markets. Deanna is proud that the business she started at age 14 is still in operation and is now family owned. Her experiences in FFA and her ability to be recognized for awards gave her the passion to provide students with the same opportunities she was able to achieve.
Deanna is a 2003 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia where she holds Bachelor's degrees in Agricultural Education and Plant Science and a Master's degree in Agricultural Education.
Deanna has been a leader in agricultural education on many levels, including both the NAAE and the Missouri Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association (MVATA). She's had the honor of serving MVATA for eight years on the area, district, and state levels, three years as the NAAE Region IV Secretary, and three years as the NAAE Region IV Vice President. Deanna's goals while serving the members of NAAE include to: inspire others to take a leadership role within the agricultural education profession; serve the membership of NAAE as a strong and competent leader; promote and protect the future of agriculture and agricultural education; and help to continue to advance the profession of agricultural education through advocacy, committee work, and professional development. She will also serve as a NAAE representative on the National FFA Board of Directors.
Deanna resides in Columbia, Missouri with her husband and enjoys spending time with family and friends, helping to run the family produce business, helping her husband on his family's production livestock and row crop operation, and running half marathons and marathons.
