Darla Romberger was elected NAAE Region VI Secretary at the 2022 NAAE Convention. She will serve as Region VI Secretary for one year during which she will assist Region IV Vice President, Aaron Geiman. Darla is completing her 10th year as an Agriculture Teacher & FFA Advisor at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Darla has a strong background in production agriculture and is still involved with managing her family’s livestock and crop farm in Central Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Delaware Valley University where she completed bachelor’s degrees in Dairy Science and Animal Science. Darla also completed a Master of Science degree in Agricultural & Extension Education from the Pennsylvania State University.

She is certified to teach 9 Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE) courses and has also served as a CASE Master Teacher to train other teachers across the nation. Since 2013, Darla has coached several state champion FFA teams, 2 State FFA Stars, 16 American FFA Degree recipients, and mentored 4 student teachers. For these efforts, she was named the NAAE Region VI Outstanding Young Member in 2016 and NAAE Region VI Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher in 2022. Darla obtained National Board Certification in Career & Technical Education in 2018 and serves as a National Board Facilitator to mentor other teachers through the certification process.

Darla had been involved with numerous committee and leadership positions within Pennsylvania Agricultural Education. She has served as a Regional Vice-President, President-Elect, President, and Past-President of PAAE. She has been active in NAAE committees and currently serves as Secretary for the NAAE Advocacy in Agricultural Education committee. Darla was selected to be a member of the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for Science Content Revision Committee and is currently the GLAGjr Program Manager for the Global Teach Ag Network housed at Penn State.
