Effective January 1, 2021, Dr. Wm. Jay Jackman was named Chief Financial Officer of the National Association of Agricultural Educators. In this assignment, under the direction of the CEO, Jackman will be responsible for the short- and long-term financial success of this not-for-profit education-related professional membership association, which serves agricultural education professionals throughout the United States and its territories.

From March 1996 through December 2020, Jackman was executive director of the NAAE. Jackman earned a B.S. in agriculture from Western Kentucky University in 1983, M.S. in agricultural education from the University of Kentucky in 1984, and Ph.D. in educational research and evaluation from Virginia Tech in 1991. He also earned, and maintains, the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society for Association Executives. Jackman is also an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Community and Leadership Development within the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

Prior to his employment at NAAE, Jackman was a grant programs manager for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of Higher Education Programs, a research associate at the Virginia Tech College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and director of student relations at the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

Jackman is a native Kentuckian having been reared on the Jackman family farm near Glasgow. He resides in Georgetown, Kentucky with his wife, Sharon, a retired school district administrator, a Labrador Retriever, a Boykin Spaniel, and an Australian Labradoodle. Outside of work and family, Jackman enjoys fishing, especially fly fishing, and fly tying.
