The NAAE Virtual Book Club is a fun way for agricultural educators to personalize their professional development. NAAE members can participate in the Virtual Book Club and earn professional development credit or CEU's.
The NAAE Virtual Book Club seeks to develop agricultural educators in the following ways:
2025 participants will read Teaching is a Tattoo by Mike Johnston.
Participants will be required to read the book and engage in the NAAE Virtual Book Club assignments, participate in small discussion group conference calls and/or discussion threads. Professional development credit will be awarded at the end of the last scheduled virtual event. This year up to 12 hours of professional development credit will be awarded. However, we will only be providing professional development credit to those who complete the required work for the following professional development hours; 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 10 hours and 12 hours. NAAE will not be issuing professional development credit for hours below those identified and will round up or down accordingly. We welcome all interested participants, however only Active NAAE Members and Student Members are eligible to receive professional development credit. If you are unsure about your membership status, please contact Ashley Hood.
Additionally, the book club is self-paced, and you can sign up at any point this summer to complete assignments for credit. However, we recommend registering by June 2 in order to receive the full benefit of participation and engagement with the community.
Registration will be open May 1 - June 2. Please have your book no later than June 2. You may still register past June 2, but please notify Dr. Robin McLean if you register past that date so she can get you caught up.
Questions related to the 2025 NAAE Virtual Book Club may be directed to Dr. Robin McLean.
